Today, MIDREX™ Plants produce over 70 percent of the world’s low-carbon DRI. They provide a solid foundation for near-term emissions reductions. But we want to achieve more. This is why we are highly focused on green steel technology development and the use of hydrogen in the steel industry.
Advancing the future
The MIDREX™ Process offers a proven way. Steel production via the direct reduced iron (DRI) and electric arc furnace (DRI- EAF) route already generates 50 percent less CO₂ emissions compared to the traditional blast furnace/basic oxygen furnace (BF/BOF) method.
